The Way of the Zephyr

Craig a client of Nicks before he passed away was a “car guy”. In an effort to honor his brother Peter’s memory, Craig began restoring his Lincolns one at a time. For over 10 years members of LZOC have been treated to the Watjen Lincolns every year or two, and they have all been dazzling, first-class jobs!

Four years ago, there remained only one of the Watjen brothers’ Lincolns needing a thorough restoration. It was the 1947 Lincoln V-12 Convertible Coupe that had been Peter’s (Craig’s brothers) favorite convertible despite the fact that the color and the top were incorrect for the car. At the time it had been painted a coppery red and fitted with a white vinyl top, neither of which was authorized by Lincoln. Craig enlisted Dan Falco again to restore the convertible.

The color became Pace Car Yellow, and the upholstery and top, which were lovingly restored by Nick Petcu, are now tan.
